Open House

I could feel the community energy on Thursday night at Open House. Families were smiling, teachers were excited, and the displays of student work were out of this world! I was so impressed with the classroom displays and in awe of the energy that was in each and every classroom. What a wonderful experience for all. Thank you Willett teachers for your time, energy, and hard work that was displayed. You are the best!!

Judges Needed for Battle of the Books

Mr. Fluetsch needs 10 adult judges to help with the Battle of the Books. Our annual reading trivia contest sees 50 teams of 4 students each competing to answer trivia questions about the 9 Battle novels. The competition will take place on Thursday, May 18. Judges need to be at Willett from 1 pm to 3 pm. Each judge will help monitor a small number of teams and help Mr. Fluetsch record team scores. This all takes place in the new MPR. Mr. Fluetsch will provide you with everything you need to be a judge. It’s a fun way to help out the Willett literacy program!

If you would like to be a judge or have any questions about Battle, please email Mr. Fluetsch at [email protected] .

Adults On Campus During The School Day

A quick reminder that any adults on campus during the school day are to check in to the main office and get a visitor badge for safety purposes. We continue to have adults/parents who are walking across campus after drop off or during the school day which goes against our closed campus policy.

Dogs On Campus

Please refrain from bringing dogs to school unless they are registered service animals displaying their service reason.

Morning Bell Time Change

We will have a small adjustment to the morning bell time. Currently, the morning bell rings at 8:25. This bell directs students to walk to their classroom lineup numbers to be collected by teachers and walked to class. We will be moving the bell to 8:27, which allows students a few more minutes on the blacktop and a few more minutes for teachers to prepare for the day’s lessons. Parents are still asked to have students at school at 8:20.

Candy At School

I am asking for help regarding students bringing candy and/or chips to school. Students have been bringing candy and chips to school and sharing them, which causes concern about spreading of illness. Please remind your children to leave candy/chips at home. Thank you
