Moment Of Reflection

As I think back over the last two weeks, our students, staff, and community have been through a stressful and scary time. With the uncertainty that was prevalent in our community, I am happy that we have had each other for support, guidance, and strength. As I have been in and out of classrooms, on the playground, and in the lunchroom, I have seen the Willett staff pull together like no other staff that I have worked with. I have seen parents and volunteers come in and support staff in any way that they could. I have seen how the power of a community can create safe places for students to learn and grow. It is the power of our community that has kept our students safe, and our community strong. I can’t thank my staff enough for supporting their students in the hardest times. I can’t thank the Willett community enough for standing behind us and holding us up when times were uncertain. I am humbled by this community and proud to be a part of the Willett family.

Thank you

Willett Chorus Concert

Please join us to watch the Willett Chorus in our annual spring concert! This chorus is composed of 3rd-6th grade students here at Willett, and is directed by Ms. Lindsay. The songs have been selected by our 6th graders, and performed by the whole group! Our concert will be held on June 2nd, in the new MPR at 6:00pm. Super special shout out to the PTA for funding this program!

Supervision Shoutout

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our supervision team who has been supporting student supervision before school, during the day, and after school. Bertha Muela, Carter Carlson, and Jenn Kryski have done an amazing job keeping students and staff safe. Thank you for all the hard work you do!

Carter, You Are A Gem

I am sure by now that you have seen Carter Carlson on the news for his work in identifying the person who caused such harm to our community. As stated above, Carter is part of the Willett team. He keeps our students safe, supported, and more importantly, he builds connections with students. If you ever get the chance to meet this kind, student centered soul, please tell him hello and thank him for all that he does for our school. Thank you Carter!

Lost And Found Wednesdays

Starting this week, all lost and found items will be displayed on the main quad throughout the school day every Wednesday. Classes will be touring the items to find what has been lost. Please swing by at the end of the day to find any missing items that your student may have lost. At the end of the school year, all unclaimed items will be donated to families in need.

Willett End of Year Celebration

In the spirit of gratitude, compassion, and camaraderie, I would like to invite you to join me at Willett’s End of Year Celebration. The Willett PTA is welcoming Willett families, teachers, staff, and current and incoming students and families to come together on the Willett blacktop and lawns, Friday, May 19 from 4:30-7:00 pm. If you would like to contribute an hour of your time on the day of the event, please visit here.
