COUNSELING, MENTAL HEALTH, and HOUSING RESOURCES
How To Find Counseling & Mental Health Services in the Community
Care Solace: Care Solace is a mental health concierge service that DJUSD has partnered with (available for free to DJUSD families and staff). Care Solace’s mission is to make the process of finding mental health care easier no matter what the situation (insurance/no insurance, language preference, time preference for appointments, and so on). You can search the website anonymously or access more personalized services on their website or phone listed below. Help is available 24/7 via text, email, phone, video chat and they have access to translators for over 200 languages. They also help people regardless of citizenship status. Any information you share with them is confidential and securely stored. To find personalized help, call or go to the website and click on “Book Appointment.” Website: [Click HERE] Phone: 888-515-0595.
DJUSD Mental Health Resources: Student Support Services has a wealth of information on their departmental pages. The link below specifically has info on hotlines, how to access help in a crisis, resources for finding help in non-emergencies, agencies/organizations in the community (Empower Yolo, Hospice, etc), substance abuse, and a link to Care Solace. If you look on the left side of the page you’ll see a list of subpages on various topics (bullying, LGBTQIA supports, resources for basic needs, school climate, sexual assault and relationship violence, suicide prevention and intervention and more). Website: [Click HERE]
Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) or University Counseling Services: Your employer (or university) may have a program that gives a certain number of counseling sessions to you &/or your dependents at low cost or no cost. It isn’t necessarily something you sign up for. If you are unsure, you could talk to your human resources department.

Insurance List of Providers: Look on your card or policy for a phone number or website. Ask them to share a list of “In Network Providers.” Ask if they will reimburse (part or all) for out of network providers. It is common for therapists to not accept insurance or your particular insurance. A therapist may be willing to provide you with documentation (ex: a “super bill”) so you can file for reimbursement with your insurance.
Primary Care Physician/Pediatrician: Talk to your doctor. Kaiser, Sutter, CommuniCare, and other medical practices often help families connect to mental/behavioral health supports built into their system. Kaiser doesn’t require a referral from a doctor to access those supports and patients/parents can call directly for an appointment (707-624-2830).
PsychologyToday.com “Find a Therapist Tool” [Click HERE] Many therapists advertise on this page. You can read more about their approach and services offered. You can filter your search to help find the right fit...location, ages served, types of therapy offered, issue, etc. Note: I recommend leaving the insurance category blank since that information can change and may not be up to date.
