Thank A Willett Staff Member
With school coming to a close for the year, I have a request. Please join me in honoring our hard working staff for all that they do for our students. Please thank the paraeducators who support their students in every way. Please thank the teachers for their never-ending devotion to kids. Please thank the front office staff for communication and problem solving. Please thank kitchen staff and custodians for preparing and cleaning to keep our students safe and fed. And finally, please thank our library staff and our specialists for all that they do to encourage and build students up. I am thankful for all their hard work and value each for their contributions. Thank you Willett!!
Biomes!
I wanted to honor our 2nd grade team in the planning and presentation of the Biomes Musical. Our 2nd graders did such an amazing job, singing, acting, and sometimes dancing! It was so fun to watch and I am sure parents had fun. Nice job 2nd grade students and staff!
Student Photos And Filming
As the end of school nears, there will be times when parents want to take pictures/video of their students on the final days of school. Please do not post pictures on social media that have other students in the frame. We have students who have not given permission to be photographed or filmed. If you have questions, please let me know.
6th Grade Celebration
There will be a fun 6th grade celebration party on Tuesday, June 2nd from 10:30-1:30 at Sycamore Park! There will be games, dancing, selfie photo station, pizza lunch* and a popsicle/dessert table. We hope the 6th graders will enjoy this party as a celebration for all of the hard work they have put in and a memorable send off from their time at Willett.
*GF/Dairy Free pizza option will be offered
If any parents are interested in participating, please see the attached Sign Up Genius link to contribute or volunteer.
Willett 6th Grade Celebration
6th grade parents, please sign the field trip form sent home today to have your student participate in this event.
Bicycle Safety
Recently, we have been receiving reports from community members stating students who are biking to school have been weaving in and out of the bike lane which is a safety concern with some students getting close to moving vehicles. Please talk with your children who bike to school about bike safety. Thank you
COVID Tests Sent Home
All students and staff will be sent home with a COVID-19 test kit before they leave for the summer break. Please take a COVID-19 test before the day before you return to school. If your child tests positive, please have them stay home until symptoms resolve. All test kits we are sending home are viable and can be used even if they appear to be expired. Thank you for continuing to keep our community safe.
Thank You Crystal Waters
Thank you Crystal Waters for all of the years that you have kept Active4Me running strong. It is this program that gives parents the peace of mind knowing that their students have arrived at school safely when biking to school. Willett is in need of a new coordinator for Active4Me as Crystal would like to pass on the coordinator responsibilities. If you are interested/willing to keep this wonderful program going, please reach out to me with your interest. Thank you again, Crystal, for all that you do!
Lost And Found Wednesdays
Starting this week, all lost and found items will be displayed on the main quad throughout the school day every Wednesday. Classes will be touring the items to find what has been lost. Please swing by at the end of the day to find any missing items that your student may have lost. At the end of the school year, all unclaimed items will be donated to families in need.
